Kemper Insurance Agents Now Use Payology Mobile Check Capture in the Field

Kemper Insurance has several district offices and thousands of agents who, before utilizing Payology Mobile Check Capture for Salesforce, were delivering checks to district offices for scanning. In combination with Blackthorn and the deployment of the Payology Mobile Check Capture app, each agent can now utilize smart devices (iPads, iPhones, etc.) to capture checks in the field, apply them to policies, and deliver the items directly to Kemper’s financial institution.

After this highly successful deployment, Kemper chose to utilize Payology Check Scanning to scan additional items at its district offices or headquarters, replacing its lockbox service. With nearly $14.3 billion in assets, Kemper is improving the world of insurance by providing affordable and personalized solutions to individuals, families, and businesses.

Pacific Life Finds a Unique Way to Use the Payology Mobile Check Capture API

Unlike other insurance companies utilizing Payology solutions, Pacific Life Insurance had a unique requirement. Their accounts receivable process included the flatbed scanning of insurance documents combined with the customer’s check. Pacific Life Insurance Company chose to use the Payology Mobile Check Capture API, sending the check image scanned using a Twain scanner to the API for the rotation, cropping, and extraction of data. With this capability, district offices were no longer required to receive and process checks, complying with regulations monitored by government entities. Pacific Life provides life insurance products, annuities, and mutual funds to individuals, businesses, and pension plans.

What solutions do insurance companies use?

Insurance companies collecting physical checks use the Payology Check Scanning SDK or Salesforce app to scan checks directly in their environments and apply the payments to policies, reinstatements, and loans. The Payology Mobile Check Capture API and Salesforce app give insurance field agents the ability to collect payments from their clients by capturing check images at the time of collection, shifting this responsibility from the district offices to the field agents.
